01 / The association

Independent by principle.
Rigorous by method.

Founded in France on 26 April 2026, AFBS is a non-profit association under the French loi 1901, open to researchers, engineers and practitioners who share a simple idea: the security of blockchains and wallets deserves independent, published and verifiable research.

Loi 1901 Non-profit France Founded April 2026

Our purpose

What the association exists to do.

A broad purpose — blockchain and its security — but precise commitments on the way we work.

AFBS’s purpose is to advance knowledge and security in blockchain technologies, crypto-assets and wallets, in the public interest and without seeking profit. In practice:

  1. Study blockchain protocols, their uses, their limits and their trust models.
  2. Identify, document and responsibly disclose vulnerabilities affecting contracts, software clients (nodes), wallets and their dependencies.
  3. Study the quality of random number generators and the radio or electromagnetic emissions of hardware wallets, including supply-chain implants.
  4. Support innovation that builds in security and user protection from the design stage.
  5. Audit wallets and key architectures, without ever holding or handling their secrets.
  6. Produce and disseminate open knowledge, train people and raise public awareness.
  7. Contribute to technical, standards and regulatory debate, without ever defending a particular commercial interest.

Statuts: these missions are set out in the founding statuts adopted on 26 April 2026. The adopted text and the declaration receipt will be published on this page.

Scope

A clear framework, to protect everyone.

What we do — and what we refuse to do — is part of our method.

What we are

  • An independent, non-profit research laboratory.
  • A place to audit wallets and key architectures, with no custody.
  • A unit for analysing randomness, hardware wallets and their emissions.
  • An actor in responsible disclosure and technical debate.
  • A space for training and knowledge sharing.

What we are not

  • A token issuer or a project promoter.
  • An exchange platform or an investment adviser.
  • A custodian of private keys or funds.
  • An absolute guarantee of security.
  • A financial audit firm.

Values

Four non-negotiable standards.

01

Independence

No conclusion is for sale. No funding conditions a result.

02

Rigour

Reproduce, document, review. An intuition is not a finding.

03

Openness

Methods and knowledge shared. Security is better built together.

04

Public interest

Protecting people before serving a reputation or a market.

Governance

Simple, legible, revocable governance.

The association is administered by a sovereign general meeting and an elected board. The executive committee carries out decisions day to day. Terms of office are limited and conflicts of interest are declared.

Coming soon: the full statuts, the internal rules and the minutes of the founding general meeting of 26 April 2026 will be published after declaration with the préfecture.

01 / Sovereignty

General meeting

It approves the statuts, the accounts, the budget and the strategic directions. Every active member has one vote.

02 / Steering

Board of directors

Elected by the general meeting, it sets strategy, oversees delivery and safeguards the independence charter.

03 / Execution

Executive committee

Chair, treasurer and secretary handle day-to-day management and report to the board.

Founding group

Three seats. One standard.

Two founding seats remain open. Names will be announced once the individuals concerned have agreed, before the declaration with the préfecture.

Founder

Yang Yuhui

Founder · Research & security

As the originator of the project, Yang Yuhui directs work on wallet vulnerabilities, random number generators and hardware wallets, and coordinates the research programmes as well as relations with researchers. His work includes the reception and analysis of beacon and time-signal stations from several countries, most recently NTSC at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with complete reports. Independent work.

Frequently asked questions

Ask a question

Is the association already declared?

AFBS was founded on 26 April 2026, but its declaration with the préfecture has not yet been filed. The site presents its activities and allows you to express interest; no definitive membership and no payment is requested before the declaration.

Who can join?

Researchers, engineers, lawyers, students, journalists and anyone who shares the association’s purpose, with no condition of nationality or residence. Active members contribute to the work; supporting members provide financial or material support.

How will the association be funded?

The planned model rests on membership fees, grants, patronage and audit engagements. All funding will be governed by the independence charter: no contributor may condition a conclusion or a research area.

Who are the two other founders?

The two seats are open. The profiles are defined (research & protocols; hardware, RNG & RF) and names will be announced once the individuals concerned have agreed. We prefer to publish confirmed names rather than premature announcements.

Can I propose a partnership or funding?

Yes, subject to compatibility with the purpose and the independence charter. Write to contact@frblockchain.icu specifying the nature of the partnership, the timeline and what you expect from the association. Funding conditional on a result is refused.
