04 / Membership

Security is a common good.
Let’s build it together.

AFBS is opening expressions of interest ahead of membership. Researchers, engineers, lawyers, students, organisations: if you share the demand for independent, useful research, there is a place for you. No payment is requested before the declaration with the préfecture.

Why join

Three ways to support useful work.

Membership gives no influence over conclusions. It funds research time and gives access to the work.

01 / FUND

Independent research

Membership fees fund analysis time, tools, review and publication. No token, no promised return, no dependence on an advertiser.

02 / UNDERSTAND

Access the work early

Members and supporters receive working papers, method notes and invitations to technical meetings before they are widely released.

03 / CONTRIBUTE

Bring your skills

Review, fieldwork, tool development, translation, law, teaching: security needs many disciplines, not only code.

Profiles

Three ways to get involved.

The exact rights and obligations will be set out in the statuts and internal rules adopted at the general meeting.

Active member

Do, review, research

You take part in a working group, a review or a research project. You vote at the general meeting.

  • Participation in working groups
  • Voting rights at the GM
  • Access to working papers and tools

Fee set at a general meeting

Supporting member

Support without a time commitment

You provide financial or material support, with no obligation to contribute operationally. You stay informed about the work.

  • Access to working papers and meetings
  • Acknowledgement of support, if you wish
  • No influence over conclusions

Fee set at a general meeting

Partner

Cooperate within a written framework

Laboratories, foundations, companies or associations: every cooperation is framed by an agreement and a conflict-of-interest review.

  • Joint research projects
  • Audit or training engagements
  • Public agreement and scope

Considered case by case

Independence: no membership, fee or agreement gives the right to validate, steer or delay a research conclusion. This rule will appear in the independence charter annexed to the statuts.

Process

Four steps, no rush.

The association was founded on 26 April 2026 but is not yet declared. The remaining steps concern the declaration and the formal opening of memberships.

01

Register your interest

You complete the form below. No data is stored: an email is prepared for you to review.

02

Talk

A short conversation to understand your expectations, your skills and what you would like to contribute.

03

Declaration with the préfecture

The dossier is filed and the RNA issued. The statuts and executive committee have been in place since 26 April 2026.

04

Formal membership

After the declaration to the préfecture and the issue of the RNA, membership becomes final and the register of members opens.

Expression of interest

Tell us what brings you here.

No need for a ten-page CV. A few lines about your practice, what you would like to contribute and what you expect from the association are enough to start.

Before the declaration: your message is an expression of interest, not a legal membership. No fee, no payment and no commitment will be asked of you now.

Prepare my expression of interest

This form sends no data to a server: it opens your email client with a pre-filled message.

No field is transmitted to AFBS until you send the email from your email client. Never attach a private key, a recovery phrase or signing data.

Frequently asked questions

Membership in practice.

When can I become a member officially?

After the declaration with the préfecture and the issue of the RNA, according to the indicative schedule published on the association’s page. Until then, your message is an expression of interest, with no commitment.

Is there a membership fee?

The principle of an annual fee is envisaged. Its amount and any reductions will be voted at a general meeting. No payment is requested before the declaration, and you should never communicate bank details through this site.

Can I join from abroad?

Yes. The association is French, but its members may live elsewhere. The arrangements for remote voting and participation in meetings will be set out in the internal rules.

Do I need to be a blockchain expert?

No. Security is a multidisciplinary subject: law, journalism, teaching, design, economics and social sciences all contribute to it. We do expect every member to be rigorous and to respect the charter.

What happens to my data?

This site stores nothing: the form opens your email client. If you send an email, it is kept for as long as necessary for the exchange, then deleted in accordance with the data policy. You can request access, rectification or erasure at contact@frblockchain.icu.

How can I propose a partnership?

Choose “Partner” in the form or write to contact@frblockchain.icu. Specify the nature of the partnership, the timetable and what you expect from the association. A written agreement and a conflict-of-interest review will be systematic.

Security is built with those who understand it. And with those who doubt it.
